March 7, 2011

well good mornin y'all.

this week has been a week full of ups and downs. we were teaching Mike (the one who has came to church drunk twice) about church. i told him that we loved him and i said... "you cant feel the spirit at church when you're drunk." he pause for a minute...then got up and left the room. you could hear a door slam or something, then he came back and said "ya know i love ya zac, but dont ever come back again." (he saw my first name on my scriptures). We were there with a member...so we got our stuff and left. I knew that he had to be told that...we're told to testify with boldness. but i still felt horrible because i honestly love him. i want him to find the peace that the gospel brings, and i didnt want to give up on him. a couple days later we got a call from him. he wouldnt stop saying how sorry he was, that he was drunk when he said it, and how he hopes he is still welcome at church. we went over there later that night and talked about how addictions can lead us down the path of destruction. hopefully this will lead him to repentance, and overcoming his alcoholism.

Elder Rhea and i were tracting the other night on the border of our area. theres a street that is in our area, and in the first ward elder's area as well. and we ran into each other...how crazy is that?! out of the whole city of Lynchburg...two companionships were tracting on the exact same street...i know that the Lord wanted us to find somebody on that street. lol. so that was kind of interesting.

There is a cool missionary saying that elder rhea and i like to say...4th floor last door. i testify that is true!! we were tracting the other day and it was dark (not the funnest time to be tracting haha). but thats ok because our other saying is...its fun to find, all the time, espicially from 6-9. Anyways...we said that the end of the block was going to be our last house. we needed to loan out one more copy of the Book Of Mormon to meet our goal. everybody was saying no...and we came to the last house on the block. before i knocked on te door i asked elder rhea if he had enough faith to loan the BoM...because i didnt. He said that he did. We knocked it, the lady was super nice, and we were able to loan her a BoM. I love how the Lord performs tiny miracles every once in a while to let me know that he's still listening. :) this work is real, Heavenly Father listens to us, and He is mindful of our needs. i am so greatful that i know what i know. that He has a plan for each and every one of us, and that he wants us to be happy and return to live with him. i can also testify that i know that to be true.

thanks for all your support and prayers. love y'all!

Well today was a really good week. We set another person with a baptismal date...so that puts us at 3 so far! :) The Lord is blessing us! The past couple weeks everytime we have drove past a particular apartment complex i got the feeling that we needed to go tract it. Finally i couldnt handle it anymore, and i told Elder Hinds that the next day...we were going to knock on every single door there. So we did. The second door was a younger lady who had just got back from basic training. After talking with her for a few minutes she told us how another person in her unit was a mormon and how they were talking about the Book Of Mormon?! We were totally ment to be there, and she was really interested. We gave her a BofM and set a return appointment for sometime next week. It was so cool. :) We had an investigator come to church drunk yesterday...yes ye read it right...drunk. After the hymns he would clap, he was noisy during the sacrament, he yelled "congrats!" to a priest who the bishop called up the the podium...ugh. it was seriously the most stressful/emberassing day of my entire life. I was mad at first...then i remembered when Christ said that "he came to the world not to call the righteous to repentance, but the sinners to repentance". At least he was making the effort to come and worship...unlike some of the members of our own ward. He has a long way to go, but he loves the Bofm and Joseph Smith...he has a baptismal date for March 26. Hopefully he can get things straightend out by then. :) haha. The other day while we were tracting this lady tried to bash with us but we left. While we were making our way down the other side of the street we could hear her talking to her neighbor about how "the mormons are tricky", "how mormons have plural wives", "how they're a cult". etc. Some people are so mean! haha, but its ok, i love it. There is a song around here that is called the baptist theme song....

"Born again, free from sin, never goin to church again. I beat my kids i beat my wife, im gonna have eternal life"

Some people seriously live by that. Thanks for all you do, and thanks for all the letters and support. It makes it even easier knowing that i have so many people out there that are praying for me. love y'all! :)

Well hello family and friends...this week has been another good one. On Firday we had a 24 hour exchange, and i went with Elder Brady in his area. So in the neighborhoods here...there absolutely no sidewalks!..so you have to park in peoples yard. So he parked around the corner on somebodys side lawn. When we came out the car had sunk like 4 inches into the lawn?! We tried getting out, but it wasn't working...ugh. So we finally had to call some members to have them help us push it out. We left a HUGE rutt in their lawn...ugh. It was SO emberassing. Thats just what these baptists want to see...a couple of mormon missionaries ruining their lawn. We had a really good lesson with one of our investigators the other day. When we got there he told us that he had been researching Joseph Smith on the internet (never a good sign)...we asked him what he thought about him. He started to almost yell saying... "he's almost as good a Jesus", "he had a lot of guts", "i love that man". We were so excited to hear him say all of this stuff! He went to prison when he was 19 and was in for eighteen years. But he is loving the gospel so far. As we were praying the member said how we were greatful for Joseph Smith, and Mike (investigator) said "Yes God, i love that dude". haha! :) It was really funny. But its been a pretty good week, i cant believe that this transfer is almost over already... Thanks for all the love and support, i look forward to hearing from y'all. love ya.

So i know that there are TONS of religions out here, but i ran into my first "Heathen of Satan" this week. Yeah...i know. He looked just as scary as it sounds. He answered the door and had tattoos on his face and said the he belonged to the "Wolves of Vineland"...i dont even know what that means, but he was pretty feaky lookin. He said that Christians believed in an alien??...can you believe that! haha. Geez...we just bore testimony and left. So that was a pretty interesting experience. Yesterday President Thornock (our mish. president) came out and worked with Elder Hinds and I. We went tracting, and it was really fun to go tracting with the president. He is SO bold! He doesn't beat around the bush to salvation, that is for sure. Well, i finished the Book Of Mormon again yesterday. And i put Moroni's challange to the test again (moroni ch. 10 vs. 4-5), and i've came to the conclusion that the Book Of Mormon is still true! It was awesome because i got little sparks that told me it was true, but i asked if it could be made known to me even stronger than that...i waited for a minute or so...then it felt like somebody threw a giant warm blanket over me...it was amazing! I absolutely loved it! You can't deny the truthfullness of it!! Thanks again for all the love and support, i look forward to reading the letters (even though i cant always reply to them), love y'all!

Hey y'all!
This week was pretty interesting. So had this guy call us and ask for a Book Of Mormon. Elder Hinds and I were excited and we got there johnny on the spot. To start off, he lives in a pretty sketchy part of town...he invites us in and locks his door from the inside with a key, that was really odd...then he proceeds to tell us that Satan tells him to kill himself, and that he's homicidle! Can you believe that?! So as you can imagine, Elder Hinds and I got out of there! Anyways...i started talking to this guy named Chris at the library a few days ago. We got to know him, and he really knows the Bible. He invited us to his house on Friday night to have a testimony meeting...we were hesitant to go, but we did. He made chili and we met him and some of his friends around a camp fire and shared our beliefs. There was a guy there who was going to Liberty University (the baptist version of BYU), and he sincerly accepted a Book Of Mormon! It was really cool, and it was spiritual. :) Well its getting really cold here. I hope you all have a great week, thanks for all the support! :)

So it was transfers this week...and im stayin in Lynchburg! Elder Hinds is staying here too, which is awesome. President Thornock said that when he got to us he just knew that we were supposed to stay together. Which is good...i never want to leave this place, i love it! :) So this week Elder Hinds got sick and we had to stay in the apartment ALL day long...holly cow, i now know that i never want to go to prison. It was absolutely brutal. haha ok not that bad, but it was pretty bad. I read forever, but you can only read for so long. So that was kind of frustrating, but hes feeling better now so thats really good. Earlier this week we had a refferall for somebody who ordered a Book of Mormon from mormon.org. So E. Hinds and i drove to his apartment and got in only to find out that he was a student at Liberty (the baptists' version of byu), and all he wanted to do is bash with us. I got a little frustrated and started to bash back...you should never do that because all it does is drive the spirit away and cause contention. He tried bringing up some doctrinal issues with mormonism that we quickly answered, then i brought up some issues with his religion that he couldn't answer. I thought it would make me feel good, but i felt horrible. I will never bash again! There are just so many lost and confused people and I want to show them the right way...but you have to show them in the right way, with the spirit. :) Let the spirit do all of the teaching! The weatherman are saying to prepare for heavy snowfall and ice...goody. The church is true, there is absolutely no way that it isn't. i love y'all!

Hey y'all!

well its been another good week. We tracted into Reverand Bernard Jefferson...he's a holliness preacher for his church, which is held in his basement! hahaha. We are teaching him and he seemed excited to read the Book Of Moromon. :) Holly cow, you should hear the way these people pray...its a lot of hand raising, screaming and saying "THANK YOU JESUS!!!" lol. It is an interesting experience when they pray for us. lol. When they pray, the people usually shout out weird sayings like....yes lord, praise the lord, come to me jesus, yesssss, etc. So when he was praying/yelling...i said "yes jesus!" Then Elder HInds did it too...it was really cool, and we were embracing the culture! :) We plan on teaching him how to pray with reverance and with the spirit at our next visit. He holds church in his basement and we offered to come and preach to his people...he said we could! So we're trying to set something up where we teach his church...it'll be really fun. :)

December 27, 2010

Well it was a great Christmas! I want to write everybody a thank you letter...but i just don't have the time...so THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!! It felt like i was right at home with all the gifts i recieved. :) It was probably the best Christmas i have ever had. We had our baptism on the 23rd, it was a very spiritual day and she loved it. But church was cancelled on Sunday because of the snow(i swear the people here are the biggest panzys when it comes to snow, the news said we were supposed to get two inches of snow on sunday..so they cancelled church saturday night, without it even snowing yet?!), so we couldn't confirm her..ugh! So hopefully we'll have church this week and get that taken care of. That was the highlight of our week for sure. We did a lot of tracting and found a lot of people to teach as well. This time of the year most people are thinking of Christ at least in the back of their minds...so that was good. :) Thanks again for all the Christmas gifts and cards. I hope y'all have a very wonderful week!!

December 20, 2010

Well this week has been a good one. Last night Elder Hinds and I were invited to go to a Methodist Christmas party...it was really good! It really helped me to realize that the spirit of God isn't just found inside one of the Mormon churches, but it really is in almost every religion. The choir was aweosme, and it was really funny to see people do double-takes on us. haha! But...for the most part they were really friendly and welcomed us in their church. Linda Miller's baptism is still on for the 23rd! :) She had her interview on Saturday and Elder Leau (the district leader who conducted the interview) told us that she was the most prepared person he has ever interviewed...she has a copy of Preach My Gospel, and whenever we go over there she teaches us the lessons! lol. It is just amazing to see how people run with the gospel once they come to know for themselves that it is true...it's just SO exciting! So that will be a really special day. We have like three meal appointments scheduled for Christmas day so don't worry about us starving on the 25th.

So have you ever heard of the scary movie called the Mothman Prophecies??...well if you haven't, look it up. But anyways that movie takes place not far from where we're serving. I guess its a true story and all the locals swear that they have seen him. lol.

Oh yeah...we had our mission Christmas Party on Thursday in Lexington...it was forcasted to have heavy snow fall Thursday morning so on Wednesday night Elder Hinds, Me, Elder Leau, and Elder Brady all drove up together, the roads were really narrow and very windy. We arrived safely and had our Christmas party. Thanks to all who sent Christmas cards! Our mission president gave all of them to us in one big bag...it was really cool to get tham all together and to read them. :) We were supposed to go back to our appartment that afternoon...but we were snowed in and had to stay until the next morning. So a bunch of elders went carrolling...that was pretty fun. It was fun to stay with a lot of other elders.

Well Christmas is coming fast...this year is nice because i can truly focus on the true meaning of Christmas. Thank y'all again for all that you do, and for all of the love and support that i get on a regular basis. I love y'all. :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

December 13, 2010

Hello Family,

this week has been a great week. The people here are super humble and are almost always willing to at least hear ya out. i sent a few pictures with this email. the log cabin: we are teaching people who actually live in it! the black lady: thats Yvonne, shes really funny. And the other one is my companion, Elder HInds.

We're teaching this one guy who calls him self Cuzn Nick, hes a rapper, and hes really funny. He gave us a sample of stuff he raps about and we asked him if he could rap about something...a little nicer. hahah! so he told us that he was going to make one on prayer and put it on a cd for us! its going to be awesome. we are having a Baptism on the 23rd, which is going to be really good. Her name is Linda and shes had two of her kids die on Dec 23rd, and thats Joseph Smith's birthday...so its going to be a really special day for her. The work is going great and Lynchburg is awesome. There is a ton of history here...i hope that i can see all the stuff! I can't believe that Christmas is a coupld weeks!...it still feels like August to me. it is going by waaay too fast.

I got a couple slips in the mail telling me i have packages...i havent been able to pick them up yet so thank you to who ever sent them! im going to wait til christmas to open any packeges i get from here on out.

I hope y'all have a wonderful week and ill talk to ya next week!

November 30, 2010

This past week has been absolutely crazy...but good lol. I found out that i'm being transfered to Lynchburg, Va. Now let me tell you a little about Lynchburg...you know BYU??...well Lynchburg is a college town. The college there is called Liberty University...and its the Baptist version of BYU. Like people go there to become ministers and preachers and stuff. You know what i have to say about that one...BRING IT ON BABY!!! I cant wait to bring all those people out of the darkness over there! :) So hold off on the letters until i can get my new address and get it out to y'all. lol. I leave for Lynchburg tomorrow and should be there tomorrow evening. This week i have learned a really valuable lesson...ALWAYS listen to the promptings of the spirit: So we have this investigator here named Bob...and Elder Mulks and I were getting ready to set him with a baptism date. He missed our appointment (unlike him) and so we went back a couple days later. When we went back his wife answered the door crying and told us that Bob had died...i never thought i cuold feel so much remorse for somebody i had never met before, i felt horrible. But when we went to see him and he didn't answer...i felt a strong feeling that i needed to go into his house (even though it looked like nobody was home), i had my hand on the door knob and everything. But i let my own thoughts talk myself out of it. Then a couple days later we found out that he had died in his house. I cant help but to think that i was supposed to go in and that maybe i could have done something to help him...he was an awesome guy who was just soaking in the gospel. Im glad that Elder Mulks and I were able to prep. him for the spirit world though. :) I am kinda bummed im being transfered because Ashley, our baptism date moved her date to Christmas Day...what a day to be baptized huh?!...and im going to miss it. But oh well, its not about me anyways. Sorry if this letter is hard to read. i am just writing things that i can remember in no particular order. haha. um...the church is true and its amazing. thank you so much for all the support and love. :) ill be sure to get my new address ASAP. love ya!

Good morning y'all~

This week was a pretty average week, nothing too crazy to talk about. But the Jehova Witness missionaries are everywhere! A couple days ago we were tracting and when we looked behind us...they were tracting the same exact street as us?! UGH. This town is seriously like battle of the religions. haha. Oh yeah, on Wednesday Elder Mulks and I were walking back to our apartment and these two guys in a black Tahoe pulled up next to us and got out...we were ready for some trouble makers or something...they were actually a couple of Muslims who wanted to know more about the Mormons, it was kinda cool. After talking to them, they encouraged us to "explore the muslim faith, so we could find out what was really true." haha. oh man...you gotta love it. We have been finding a lot of people to teach lately so we're keeping pretty busy. :) This week Elder Mulks infomed me that i was starting to get an accent!...apon further review of my speach i have realized that i am getting an accent, and i cant fix it! I never realized it until he told me... and im only three months out...so we'll see how bad it gets in 21 more months....

thanks for everything y'all do!

November 8, 2010

Well this week was an interesting one...not too much success, but we talked to a lot of people. On this one street, we talked to THREE preachers...ugh. I walked away from one of them and said "have fun in the tellestial kingdom, i'll come visit ya every once in a while..." But that wasn't very Christ like now was it?! Haha. But i have since then repented and wont do that again. lol. They always say how they are concerned for "our salvation" We talked to all of them and then leave, i try my best to keep my cool because they think they know everything! lol. I tell ya what...out here you either gain a testimony (quickly), or you lose the little one you had. You get attacked from all of the protistant churches on a daily who constantly try your faith. It can be really frustrating at times, but i love it! I have honestly been blessed with patience here, i have learned to nod my head and smile. :) It's their loss, not mine. The other day Elder Mulks and i were tracting and saw this older guy out raking leaves by himself (which is no small project in VA) and we asked hime if he wanted some help. He said no...but we could tell that he did want some help. So we just rolled up our sleeves and started to help him pack these huge tarps full of leaves up his driveway/mountain. It was really neat. He wasnt very interestd in talking about church but he was a super nice guy and hopefully we planted a seed for the other missionaries who will tract into him some other day. :) But i found a scripture that tells you how to be the best missionary...its Alma 26:22. I have been trying my best to apply this scriputre in my life. It's hard, but it came from one of the best missionaries to ever walk the planet, so i think i'll try and take his advice huh? :) So yeah, it is absolutely bone chilling freezing. The wind makes you want to curl in a ball and stay inside. You walk outside and your INSTANTLY freezing (im sure papa knows what i'm talkin about). Lets see...nothing else to really report. This week we have seven appointments scheduled, thats a really good week here so hopefully they all go as planned. Thank you for all of your letters!! :)

Monday, November 1, 2010

Well this week was an interesting one for sure. Remember in my last letter how we tracted into some Jehovas Witness missionaries?...well this week they tracted into us!! It was so funny...when he saw two LDS missionaries open the door i swear that he was going to wet himself. But we were very nice and accepted his pamphlet and gave him some pointers on his door approach! hahaha. he was way to nervous and started to stutter...i actually felt bad for him. It was honestly a blessing for him to come because it made me feel like my door approaches were really good (compared to his), and it also made me realize how important it is do have a good door approach. The other night we ate at a members house, and at the end we usually leave a spiritual thought, and a prayer. Well...i gave the spiritual thought, and Elder Mulks gave the prayer. During the prayer, Elder Mulks said..."thank you for the meal, and for brothe5 and sister...uh....uh..." he TOTALLY forgot their names. It was so funny and i had to exort all my energy not to laugh. hahahaha. We booked it out of there and laughed and laughed and laughed at how emberassing it was. It was halloween last night, so as you can imagine, it's really hard to go door to door. lol. So instead, we walked around downtown Christiansburg and OYM'd people (open your mouth). Which is where you just walk up to a random person and start telling them how the church is true...i love doing it! At night when we plan for the next day we do this thing thats called "asking the lord for a referral" We pray to know where it is we need to tract, then we look at a city map and write down five streets, then we compare our lists...and there is always two or three streets that are the same...out of the entire map of the city! Oh man, its so cool when that happens. So we know we definently need to hit up those streets. :) well have a wonderful week and thanks (like always) for the letters and support. I love y'all.

Love,
Elder Crane
Well this past week has been a pretty good one. It was transfers week and i got a new companion. His name is Elder Mulks...he is six five, so the two of us make a pretty huge companionship! lol. We need to watch where we step so we don't step on anybody. Transfers week is always crazy, just a lot of running around and trying to get caught up. We tracted into this really mean baptist guy the other day who told us we were a part of a cult and that we were going to hell...gotta love those people!! :) Then we tracted into another baptist guy who invited us in, gave us a piece of cake, gave us a pocket sized bible and talked with us for a half hour... Its just so interesting to see how diverse the religions are out here, and how some of them act. We definently see the good, the bad, and the ugly... Two days ago a baptist preacher must have seen us tracting or something because when we made it back to our car...there were pamphlets on our windshield that told us how "we're truly saved". Hahaha. We also knocked on a door and you'll never guess who it was...a couple of Jeehovas Witness missionaries?! hahaha. But they were super nice and we traded beliefs and talked about how rude the people around here can be. Religion around here is very popular, so its hard to find people who are willing to listen to the gospel...haha. We had a thing at our church building called "Meet the Mormons" last night. It was an open house where anyone could come in and there were booths set up and they could just walk around and see what our church is all about. There was actually a really good turn out and we got to talk to a lot of nice people...hopefully we can find succes from that. Elder Mulks and I have been praying a lot about what we need to do to give the work a jump start in Christiansburg. We both felt like we need to inspire the members of our ward to be better ward missionaries and to do a little more. So we're going to try to come up with a way to get the ward excited about missionary work as well. :) THE CHURCH IS TRUE!! :) :) :) Well...thanks for listening to me talk. lol. Thank you far all your letters!! i love y'all!

Friday, October 15, 2010

Well this week has gone by really fast. We had a super good week with six or seven new investagators. We were tracting this loooooooong street the other day and we talked to this old guy and told him a little about the church...he wasn't interested, but was a real nice guy. When we were walking back he pulled out a ten dollar bill and stuffed it into Elder Fenton's shirt pocket and told us to go have dinner on him. :) Most of the people around here are awesome!...they just have their own religion and don't seem the need to go to a different one. Well thanks (like always) for all the letters and carmel popcorn (grandma)! I love getting them and reading them. Have a wonderful week and i look forward to hearing from y'all.

Thursday, October 7, 2010

Well...i have never been so excited to watch conference before! Haha. It's pretty much a holiday for missionaries. In the priesthood session i saw some people from my zone in the MTC singing in the choir...that was pretty cool. We ran into a little speed bump with our investagators baptismal date. I guess he is on parole for another 2.5 years. But if he continues to come to churh and keep commitments...our presidint will send a letter so Thomas Monson and get permission for him to be baptized. How cool would that be?! The week flew by...like always. We are teaching a lady who tried to kill herself three times. She said that she was praying and we knocked on her door the next day. It's very cool to see how we are guided to some poeple. :) My companion is already getting ready to go home, which kind of stinks because we are just getting to know each other. So when he leaves i'll be senior to the area and be exptected to show my new compaion our area and investagators!...UGH. I feel like i am just getting settled. Haha. Wow, is it already October?? It's already starting to get cold out here, so we're expecting winter to be a cold one. We had exchanges a couple days ago, it was fun. There are a companionship who is over all of the Virginia Tech studens apartments. I got to go up there and experience that, it would be fun to serve in that area and talk to people my own age some time...but who knows. I have definently come to appreciate left overs...those are some of the best meals we get! Thanks again for the letters. :)

Thursday, September 23, 2010

Well hello family!

Life in Virginia is pretty good...so far at least. I bought a knife to protect myself from the CRAZY dogs here...i swear that every dog here is out to kill me, im not even kidding! The other night was pretty funny...Elder Fenton and i were tracting around 6pm or so?...and these two kittens would not leave us alone. They would walk with us like dogs, and they would step in front of us so we would step on them? They followed us up to the doors so while Elder Fenton was trying to talk to people, i was holding these two stupid cats so they wouldn't run into the houses!...ugh. I'm sure that i looked absolutely dumb, but oh well.

Today is P-day, and we have four appointments scheduled...but i don't think Jesus ever took a P-day...so why should we right? hahaha jk. But we're working hard (or at least i like to think so) and we have four investagators. It is pretty cool to see how much somebody craves the gospel, people here are so lost! Good thing the missionaries are here to save the apostate people of Christiansburg. There is seriously a church on every corner, so it makes it hard to get people to listen.
Oh yeah, i don't think i told y'all in my last email, but i live like ten minutes away from Virginia Tech! HAHAHA. The people in my ward hate me for being from Boise, but oh well. I am in a ward, not a branch. But in an area close to mine...there is a branch. There church is in the middle of a strip mall! It's so crazy to go there, i have never seen anything like that before. That branch is having a few baptisms next week and guess what they are using for the baptismal font?....a horse trough!!! Hahaha, i guess you'll do anything to be baptized right?
The trees here are starting to turn colors and it's so pretty, i can't wait for it to really get into fall.

I got lucky, because i am in a car area, so no biking for me!

The other day we tracted a street called Rolling Hills...and yes, the neighboorhood was just like it sounds....ROLLNG HILLS. I'll have legs of steel after my mission, that's for sure.

There is a family in our ward who is really rich, and has a full gym...so we get to go there and work out on P-day...so that's really nice to have! They also have a tennis court and stuff, it's pretty fun.

I get all of your letters and i promise that i'll write you back! Haha.

Elder Fenton and I knock on every door....and the other night Elder Fenton forced open this gate (there was aslo a sign that said no tresspassing), the lady who opened the door was....not happy with us, to say the least. HAHAH. She told us to "get the BLEEEEP off her porch." HAHAHAHA! But we give everybody a chance to hear us, so it's her loss, not ours. :)

I'm doing great so no need to worry about me. Keep the letters coming, and thanks for all the love and support!

Til my next email....Love y'all,
-Elder Crane

Monday, September 13, 2010

Hey how's it going. So i am in Christiansburg Virginia. It's is pretty nice, the weather here is perfect. Not too hot, not too cold. My trainer is Elder Fenton, he was an AP before this and only has one transfer left (a transfer is 6 weeks). He is teaching me tons and is really good. We go tracting ALL day long and it's kind of weird. I never thought that it would be as scary as it is. The baptist grandmas scare me worse than the four dogs that chased Elder Fenton and I up a hill the other day! Yes, we got chased by FOUR dogs. That was one of the scariest days of my life. Haha. I am getting the hang of things...at least i think i am. But we already have a few teaching appiontments! We tracted into a few and they're really cool. There are two types of people here. Some poeple love what we are doing but already have there owen religion, and people who don't want to have anything to do with you. I don't have too many stories yet, but im sure that there will be many as i stay out here. My body doesn't like the time difference...ugh. But thanks for all the love and support, i hope that i will have more to talk about in the future. Love you guys!

Wow, i can't believe i have been here for overa week. The time here goes by SO fast it's not even funny. Nothing too exciting has happened this week...just the usual schedule. I found out that i am leaving for Charleston, West Virginia September 7! I should be there by 3:00p.m. I am so excited and ready to get out of here. The MTC is fun, but i am very glad that i don't have to learn a language and stay here for seven more weeks! :)

Presidint Hinckley's son, Elder Hinckley gave our devotional on Thursday. It's crazy how much he looks, sounds, and talks like President Hinckley!

To help cure our boredome in our room at night, me and my roomates made a basketball hoop out of a cardboard box, and a basketball made out of a roll of toilet paper. It's way fun and all the Elders in our zone want to play...

Thank you guys so much for all of the love and support i am getting in my letters, they make it much easier to be here. :) Sorry i don't have anything else exciting to report, im sure it'll get better once i'm in W.V.

Elder Crane
